CALL FOR PAPERS

This is a call for papers, as well as commentary and book, video, online and film reviews for publication in the June 2008 issue of The Philippine Journalism Review.

The Philippine Journalism Review is the refereed journal of the Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility (CMFR). It is the only refereed journal in Southeast Asia devoted to journalism concerns and issues, and is at this time published annually.

The Review is not affiliated with any academic institution but includes in its Board of Advisers members of the faculties of journalism of the University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University, the University of Santo Tomas, St. Scholastica’ s College, and the Asian Institute of Journalism and Communication.

Information for Authors: Papers submitted for publication in The Philippine Journalism Review can be on any aspect of journalism study and practice, as well as on current issues in journalism whether in the Philippines or abroad. Film, book, website, TV or radio reviews as well as commentaries are also welcome.

All articles must be in English and must follow the American Psychological Association (APA) style. A maximum of 6,000 words is allowed per article, and 2,000 words per review, although they may be longer in exceptional circumstances. An abstract of 100 to 150 words must accompany every paper.

All articles must be supplied in hard copy and compact disc. Photographs and illustrations must be no smaller than 5″ x 7″ and must have a resolution of at least 200 dpi.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to include copyrighted material. The deadline for submission of material for publication is March 1, 2008.
